Cross-chain interoperability just got more accessible for XRP holders. Axelar Network confirmed on its official X account that the XRP Ledger and XRPL EVM Sidechain are now live on the Axelar App. Nine tokens are now transferable across connected blockchains without additional bridge infrastructure.
How Axelar Works
Axelar is a decentralized interoperability network. It connects over 80 blockchains and allows assets to move between them through a single protocol. Its Interchain Token Service handles the mechanics of cross-chain transfers, routing tokens between ecosystems without requiring users to manage multiple bridges.
The XRP Ledger integration means both the native XRPL mainnet and the XRPL EVM Sidechain now sit inside that network. Users can move assets in and out of the XRPL ecosystem to any other chain Axelar supports.
The XRP Ledger and XRPL EVM Sidechain are now live on Axelar App, unlocking new routes for multiple assets to move across chains without friction.

The Supported Tokens
The supported tokens are XRP, SHx, USDf, SOIL, WETH, WBTC, mBTC, mTBILL, and mXRP. The list covers native assets, wrapped cryptocurrencies, and tokenized real-world assets. That range signals the integration targets both retail users and institutional participants dealing in regulated financial products.
mXRP is particularly relevant for XRP holders. Issued by Midas on the XRPL EVM, it is a yield-bearing token backed by XRP. Yield generated from its strategy is used to purchase additional XRP, creating programmatic demand for the underlying asset. mTBILL represents tokenized U.S. Treasury bills, adding a real-world asset layer to what is accessible through XRPL.
The XRPL EVM Sidechain
The XRPL EVM Sidechain extends the XRP Ledger’s capabilities into Ethereum-compatible territory. Developers can deploy smart contracts and decentralized applications using EVM tooling while settling on infrastructure that runs on XRP.
Axelar serves as the primary bridge connecting the sidechain to the wider multi-chain environment. XRP functions as the native gas token on the sidechain, meaning demand for EVM activity on XRPL translates to direct demand for XRP and drives value toward the ecosystem.

What it Means for XRP
Liquidity follows infrastructure. When XRP becomes accessible across 80+ blockchain networks through a single interface, it opens the asset to a larger pool of users, protocols, and capital. DeFi applications on other chains can now interact with XRP without requiring users to leave their native environment.
XRP’s presence in the DeFi space is rapidly expanding. The infrastructure now exists for XRP to participate in cross-chain DeFi at a scale it previously could not reach.
