XRP Liquidity Sweep Is Happening. Here’s What to Watch

XRP climbed sharply heading into the CLARITY Act cloture vote. Crypto analyst Zach Rector flagged the move in a Monday update, identifying a liquidity sweep playing out in real time as the Senate prepares for the historic vote.

XRP retested $1.33 Sunday afternoon before the rally began. By Monday noon Pacific time, the price had pushed to $1.48. Bitcoin crossed back above $79,000 in the same window.

A Liquidity Sweep in Progress

Rector identified $1.50 as the immediate level to watch. The liquidation heat map shows over $2 billion in liquidations available if XRP reaches that level. Rector said that level was already filling up as he recorded his update, calling it the liquidity sweep that’s underway.

Above $1.50, the next significant liquidation cluster sits between $1.70 and $1.80. That range represents the next zone market makers could target if buying pressure continues.

The Level Below That Matters Too

Rector also highlighted a major downside level. He noted a huge liquidation level sitting at $0.98 to $1. That zone holds substantial liquidations if XRP reverses and market makers drive a flush lower. Traders should keep that level in view, particularly if Tuesday’s vote outcome disappoints.

Buy the Rumor, Sell the News

Rector connected the price action directly to the CLARITY Act timeline. With less than 24 hours remaining before the cloture vote, he said a “typical buy the rumor, sell the news event could be underway.” The setup is common around anticipated catalysts. Price rises in anticipation, then pulls back once the event resolves, regardless of outcome.

The CLARITY Act cloture vote requires 60 Senate votes to advance. Republicans hold 53 seats. At least seven Democrats must vote yes. Recent reports suggest 7 to 10 Democrats are willing to support the legislation. Senator Cynthia Lummis released the final text September 10, incorporating 126 changes made at Democratic request. President Trump voluntarily agreed to new ethics restrictions covering all federally elected officials, judges, and their spouses.

What Rector Is Watching

Rector’s key levels going into Tuesday are $1.50 on the upside and $0.98 to $1 on the downside. The $1.70 to $1.80 range represents a secondary target if the rally extends. The liquidation heat map will continue to guide expectations as price interacts with those zones.

The CLARITY Act vote is the central catalyst. How the Senate votes Tuesday will determine whether the price action holds or reverses sharply.
