Cryptocurrency exchange Bitrue, a vocal supporter of XRP, has ignited a lively debate within the crypto community.
In a recent post on X, the exchange presented a hypothetical scenario: if you realized a $1 million profit from your XRP holdings, would you buy more XRP or purchase a Tesla electric vehicle?

The thought-provoking question has garnered significant attention, drawing over 100,000 views and numerous comments. Responses ranged from humorous to skeptical, with some community members expressing a reluctance to consider either option.
One prominent commenter, CEO of Generation Infinity, King Solomon, indicated a preference for an alternative path entirely, neither buying more XRP nor a Tesla.
Others, like notable XRP Army figure Mickle, questioned the logic of selling the digital token to generate profit. “Why would I sell XRP just to buy more XRP when I could have just kept the XRP?” he wrote, highlighting the potential tax implications of selling.
Some participants, like X user Zach Scott, focused on the goal of generating passive income from their crypto investments, desiring the freedom and leisure that such a strategy could provide.
Interestingly, a few commenters saw Bitrue’s query as potentially hinting at future developments that could significantly boost XRP’s value, potentially generating million-dollar profits for some investors.
To gain perspective on the dilemma, consider Tesla’s Model S which launched in October 2014 at $69,900. At that time, XRP’s price was approximately $0.00486. An investment of $69,900 in XRP instead would have yielded roughly 14.38 million XRP.
At XRP’s current price of $0.5757, this hypothetical portfolio would be worth over $8 million, suggesting the potential for greater returns with digital assets like XRP compared to purchasing a Tesla.

Naturally, some expressed skepticism about XRP’s ability to generate million-dollar profits. Comments highlighted the perceived challenges of achieving such returns, even while acknowledging XRP’s utility as a digital asset.
Bitrue’s seemingly simple question has sparked a multifaceted discussion, revealing the diverse stances and perspectives within the cryptocurrency community. The debate highlights the challenges investors face when weighing potential gains in the crypto space against the allure of more traditional investments.
