Uphold just posted a major teaser that caught the XRP community’s attention.
The exchange posted on its official X account: “An XRP first is coming this week. Stay tuned.” Uphold attached a video showing a vault door opening to reveal a glowing green XRP logo inside. The post immediately got the community talking, with many excited for a potential new addition to the XRP ecosystem.

XRP Army Weighs In
The post generated a range of responses from the XRP community. One user speculated that the feature involves minting FXRP through Flare’s FAssets system and then staking stXRP yield via Firelight Finance to cover the DeFi market.
While this hasn’t been announced, many in the community were excited about Uphold’s staking feature on the XRP Ledger. One commenter acknowledged Uphold’s track record, noting that most features in the platform’s releases have been strong.
One user urged Uphold not to deliver an underwhelming announcement. Another raised a bearish question, wondering how much the price would drop on the announcement. XRP has struggled in 2026, and its inability to capitalize on momentum from major announcements has caused prominent supporters to question their stance.
What is Uphold Planning?
The strongest candidate is the “Earn on XRP” product that Uphold CPO Paul Underwood confirmed at XRP Vegas. He stated that the feature is in its final stages of development and that “the wait is almost over.” The product aims to help XRP holders generate passive yield on their holdings directly through Uphold, without requiring them to navigate third-party DeFi platforms independently.

A Major Step Forward for XRP
The XRP Ledger does not support native staking. Unlike Ethereum or Solana, it has no built-in reward structure at the protocol level. Uphold plans to generate yield through external mechanisms, with DeFi lending via Exactly Protocol and wrapped-token infrastructure through Flare Network both under consideration.
For long-term XRP holders, a regulated earn product through a U.S.-compliant platform removes a major barrier. It delivers yield without requiring users to manage wallets, bridges, or DeFi protocols themselves.
Uphold is also pursuing New York’s BitLicense as part of this rollout, which signals its intent to offer the product under strict regulatory oversight. That combination of yield access and regulatory compliance could make this one of the most significant XRP-focused product launches of the year.
