ShibaSwap, the widely used decentralized exchange (DEX) within the Shiba Inu ecosystem, has officially migrated to Shibarium, the layer-2 blockchain solution.
Shiba Inu content marketing specialist Lucie initially announced this move and later confirmed by the project’s development team. This migration marks a major advancement for ShibaSwap, which previously operated solely on the Ethereum network.

ShibaSwap’s integration with Shibarium opens the door to a range of new functionalities. Users can look forward to a host of innovative decentralized applications (dApps), along with these specific improvements:
Expanded Token Integration: ShibaSwap will seamlessly incorporate new tokens, expanding the diversity of options within its ecosystem.
Enhanced Liquidity Pools: Increased liquidity will improve the exchange’s efficiency and promote asset trading.
Advanced DeFi Mechanisms: Users will have access to more complex and sophisticated decentralized finance tools.
Additionally, ShibaSwap will introduce exclusive farming contracts that benefit both early investors and long-term supporters. A new launchpad is also planned, streamlining the discovery of emerging tokens on the platform.
Community empowerment is also a significant focus of ShibaSwap’s migration to Shibarium. The DEX will incorporate token voting competitions, offering incentives for participation and allowing the community to shape the ShibaSwap experience.
Reacting to these developments, Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, expressed enthusiasm about the transition. He sees ShibaSwap becoming a vibrant hub for creativity and community engagement. He said, “The new ShibaSwap is a hub for innovators and Shibizens alike. It’s where community tokens thrive, creating a dynamic marketplace filled with unique projects, causes, and ShibArmy members.”

This migration comes after Kusama’s recent hints of ShibaSwap 1.75, fueling anticipation for a full-fledged 2.0 upgrade. Since its launch in July 2021, the DEX has become synonymous with SHIB trading. Notably, Shiba Inu enjoyed a period of immense popularity, briefly surpassing Dogecoin in market capitalization – a surge partly attributed to ShibaSwap.
The platform’s primary functions include providing liquidity and facilitating token swaps. Users who stake their assets can earn BONE, ShibaSwap’s governance token. Underscoring its commitment to fostering a robust trading environment, the Shiba Inu team will reward transactions on ShibaSwap, driving trade volume and positioning the DEX as the heart of community token activity on Shibarium.
