According to the report from a local news source, the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation located in Alberta, Canada, has recently green-lighted acceptance of donations in Shiba Inu (SHIB) and other kinds of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), among others.
The Healthcare Foundation’s acceptance of crypto for donations was made possible due to its partnership with the philanthropic startup, The Giving Block.

According to the report, this is the very first healthcare foundation in the western Alberta province to add support for donations in cryptocurrencies.
Reacting to the new development, president and CEO of GRHF, Mark Korthuis, said, “The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation is focused on research, innovation and technology. Capitalizing on the benefits of digital currencies felt like a logical next step for us.
“By accepting cryptocurrency donations, we’re going to open new pathways to fund innovative health technologies that will make a real difference for patients recovering from injury or living with chronic conditions.”
Korthuis also predicted that cryptocurrencies will end up playing “a more significant role” in the world.

Those who are willing to donate to the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation have to create a new account on the Giving Block website and select certain crypto from a drop-down menu.
It’s worth noting that organizations are increasingly willing to accept digital currencies amid their growing adoption. Howbeit, the environmental impact of digital assets remains a persistent issue.
