Wietse Wind, the founder and developer of Xaman wallet, has issued a major warning to the XRP community. A verified X account posted content promoting “XMN,” a supposed token tied to the Xaman wallet.

The post used official Xaman branding and claimed that token claims would go live on the XRPL Network, with an allocation checker already live. Wind labeled it a scam immediately and clarified that “there is no Xaman token. There will not be a Xaman token.”

Hijacked Accounts and Borrowed Credibility

What makes this case particularly notable is the source of the fraudulent post. The account used belongs to Arlington ISD, a verified X account, suggesting scammers gained unauthorized access to it.

The verification badge lent the post another layer of credibility. Scammers regularly exploit trusted accounts to push fake token launches and airdrops at audiences who have no reason to be suspicious.

Wind has repeatedly raised this kind of alarm. He previously called out impersonators on X, and the Xaman team actively reports these accounts and sites. However, new ones continue to emerge.

A Pattern Across the XRP Community

This is not the first time a fake Xaman token has appeared. The XMN post is one instance in a pattern that has grown more aggressive throughout 2026. In South Korea, authorities apprehended a group that stole 3.4 million XRP, worth approximately 12.3 billion won ($8.55 million), from 71 victims. The scheme exploited trust in the ecosystem to defraud individuals at scale.

Fake XRP Staking Drains $8.55 Million From 71 Victims. What Happened and Warnings

South Korean authorities have dismantled a cryptocurrency investment fraud that collected approximately 3.4 million XRP worth 12.3 billion won (around $8.55 million) from 71 victims.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency (SMPA) announced on July 30, 2026, that three suspects have been arrested and a fourth is being pursued through an Interpol Red Notice. The case is considered one of South Korea’s largest XRP-related fraud crackdowns to date in a market where the digital asset is very popular.

How the Scheme Was Constructed

Between October 16 and 23, 2025, the suspects launched a fraudulent website, Fxrpntwork.com, deliberately impersonating the legitimate Flare Network and its FXRP ecosystem. Police noted that the timing coincided with the real FXRP token rollout, which the group exploited to appear credible.

The platform falsely offered guaranteed principal protection and fixed monthly returns of between 1.5% and 1.8%. To further establish legitimacy, the group distributed fake promotional content across Naver blogs, Tistory, Wikipedia pages, online news articles, and YouTube videos, with some featuring paid actors posing as genuine reviewers.

How Victims Were Defrauded

Investors were urged to transfer their XRP from domestic exchanges to specific wallets through an overseas exchange. Police stated this routing was deliberate, designed to circumvent South Korea’s strict monitoring systems for large domestic crypto transfers. After collecting approximately 3.4 million XRP, the operators shut down the website and dispersed.

The Investigation

The investigation was triggered after an overseas exchange flagged suspicious XRP movements to South Korean authorities. The SMPA’s Cyber Investigation Unit used blockchain analytics, IP tracking, domain registration records, and communication logs obtained through warrants.

Within three days, investigators froze approximately 17.3 billion won (around $12 million) in XRP and Tether across several overseas exchanges. However, roughly 10 billion won (approximately $7 million) had already been moved and remains unaccounted for.

In total, investigators traced 27.3 billion won (approximately $19 million) through wallets linked to the operation, a figure significantly larger than the confirmed 12.3 billion won in victim losses, suggesting that additional unidentified victims likely exist.

Arrests and Legal Proceedings

The ringleader was arrested at a domestic hideout after returning from abroad. Two accomplices were apprehended while fleeing and have since been referred to prosecutors on aggravated fraud charges under South Korea’s Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.

For the fourth suspect, believed to remain overseas, authorities obtained an arrest warrant and submitted a formal Interpol Red Notice request.

A Warning to the Public

Crypto scams are an unfortunate part of the rapidly expanding industry. The SMPA stated it “will strictly respond to cyber frauds involving cryptocurrency under a zero-tolerance policy” and issued a public advisory urging investors to treat unverified platforms promising guaranteed returns with caution.

South Korea is further strengthening its cryptocurrency enforcement framework through enhanced cooperation among the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), financial regulators and other relevant authorities, alongside tighter anti-money-laundering requirements and monitoring of virtual-asset transactions.

Global GDP sits at roughly $110 trillion. XRP at $100,000 would be worth more than 50 times the entire global economy. No asset in history has achieved anything close to that valuation.

ChartNerd’s Track Record on Outlandish Targets

ChartNerd has addressed inflated XRP predictions before. He recently called out Pumpius for outrageous targets. While that move was an error, as Pumpius was describing the amount he planned to invest, the recent exchange shows ChartNerd was heading in the right direction.

His approach prioritizes technical structure over speculative targets. He has consistently separated himself from influencers who promote extreme price levels without credible technical or fundamental backing.

The Pattern of Moonshot Calls

ChartNerd is not the only voice pushing back. Jake Claver, chairman of Digital Ascension Group, predicted XRP would reach $100 before the end of 2025. XRP did not come close. Zach Rector, another analyst, publicly called the prediction misleading.

The commentator opened by explaining that many investors are deciding whether to increase their exposure to XRP or XLM after seeing comparisons between the two cryptocurrencies.

He noted that both networks support use cases such as cross-border settlements, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), tokenized real-world assets, custody solutions, and decentralized applications. He also said both projects continue to work with major financial institutions while expanding their ecosystems despite recent market conditions.

XRP’s Higher Growth Potential

Crypto X AiMan stated that he expects both XRP and XLM to reach new all-time highs during the next major market cycle. However, he stated that XRP offers greater upside based on market capitalization comparisons.

He explained that if XRP were to reach Bitcoin’s current market capitalization, its price could increase by approximately 18x, putting it near $20 per token. By comparison, he estimated that if XLM were to grow to XRP’s current market capitalization over the next few years, it could reach nearly $2 per coin, representing roughly a 10-fold increase.

Although he described both opportunities as attractive, he maintained that XRP provides the stronger potential return based on those projections. He added that this difference is one of the main reasons he remains more optimistic about XRP than XLM heading into 2026.

Historical Performance Supports the Preference

The commentator also pointed to historical performance to support his conclusion. He noted that XRP has appreciated roughly 18,340% since its launch, while XLM has gained approximately 6,395% over the same period. In his view, XRP has consistently delivered stronger long-term performance than Stellar.

He also highlighted that XRP achieved a new all-time high during the 2025 bull market, whereas XLM did not surpass its previous peak. He presented this as another factor investors should consider when comparing the two assets.

Despite favoring XRP, Crypto X AiMan repeatedly emphasized that he remains highly bullish on XLM. He described both cryptocurrencies as major holdings in his portfolio and encouraged investors to consider owning each rather than choosing only one. He suggested diversification could allow investors to benefit if one asset outperforms the other at different stages of the market cycle.

Even so, when asked which cryptocurrency he would choose if limited to a single investment in 2026, Crypto X AiMan’s answer remained clear. Based on historical performance, projected upside, and his overall outlook, he concluded that XRP is the stronger investment.
