The timing adds weight to the story. This announcement comes just weeks after DTCC named Stellar the first public blockchain in its multi-chain tokenization strategy back in May.

Between Wall Street’s clearinghouse and a UN development agency both committing to the network within the same stretch of 2026, Stellar’s footprint is expanding across very different corners of the globe at once.

The Product of the Deal

Aid workers in Syria ran a Cash for Work program through Stellar’s network and logged every payment on-chain. That single change pulled distribution costs down from around 10% to just 2%. Haiti offered a tougher test. A payment system built for low connectivity had to keep functioning when the entire cellular network went down during testing.

The system completed every payment, hitting a 100% success rate. UNDP also built prototype systems in Colombia and Papua New Guinea alongside the five core pilots. Every dollar moved through these systems left a visible, traceable record.

The Community’s Response

Reactions poured in fast once Steph shared the news. Someone flagged the UN’s involvement as a strong signal for XLM specifically.

A wallet provider on the Stellar network also celebrated the news, highlighting the partnership. One commenter described Stellar as pushing aid forward, and another highlighted that five countries are live and called Stellar an emerging financial backbone for this kind of work.

What Comes Next?

UNDP’s next phase focuses on building repeatable processes, not one-off pilots. The agency wants its 170-plus country offices to deploy blockchain payments across more programs going forward. Stellar stays on as technical partner while UNDP runs implementation.

Lower costs and payments that survive infrastructure outages give UNDP a strong case for expansion. The move signals blockchain payments are becoming core infrastructure. The real test is scaling past the five pilot countries.

Webinar Recalls Early Blockchain Evaluations

The claim originates from a video clip shared by crypto researcher SMQKE, who highlighted remarks from a SWIFT representative during an official webinar.

In the presentation, the speaker reviewed SWIFT’s early exploration of blockchain technology, explaining that around 2015 the organization worked with approximately 45 to 50 commercial banks to study distributed ledger technology through sandbox experiments.

According to the webinar, those early evaluations included several public blockchain networks, specifically Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stellar, and XRP. The purpose was to understand how the emerging technology functioned and whether it could contribute to future financial infrastructure. The discussion presented these efforts as exploratory research conducted during the industry’s early development rather than the implementation of production systems.

Steph Is Crypto’s post focuses on Stellar’s inclusion in those original experiments, emphasizing that the network was among the public blockchains assessed during SWIFT’s initial research phase.

The IMF’s Case For Tokenization

The video opens with a short history lesson. Money evolved from shells and coins into digital records, and the IMF says tokenization is the next step. The host calls it a way to turn money into “something that’s programmable.”

The reasoning is practical, not theoretical. Buying a stock or bond today involves several intermediaries. Clearinghouses sit between buyers and sellers, holding payment and assets until both sides deliver. Registrars handle dividend payouts. Each step adds time, and in finance, time carries a cost.

Tokenization removes layers from that process. Programs can automate the work that clearinghouses and registrars currently handle. The IMF points to research showing real savings tied to this shift, calling tokenization’s promise “visible in the numbers.”

The Risks The IMF Flags

The video doesn’t sell tokenization as risk-free. Automated trading already causes flash crashes, and tokenized markets could see similar volatility because trades execute instantly. Stacked programs add another layer of exposure. If one fails during a crisis, others built on top of it could fail too.

Fragmentation is the third risk. New tokenized markets are launching constantly, and if their systems can’t communicate with each other, the efficiency gains could disappear. The IMF suggests this could require policy intervention, noting that governments have historically taken an active role when money evolves.

Where XRP And Stellar Fit In

X Finance Bull’s post connects these IMF talking points directly to XRP and Stellar. Both networks were built around fast settlement and reduced reliance on middlemen, the same features the IMF describes as the benefits of tokenization.

The XRP Ledger settles transactions in seconds, at a fraction of a cent per transaction. Stellar runs on a similar model, designed for cross-border payments and asset issuance without traditional banking rails.

Both are already showing their usefulness with the DTCC, which has tapped Stellar as the first public blockchain for its tokenized securities platform and confirmed Ripple’s participation in the working group shaping that rollout.

Whether XRP or Stellar becomes the infrastructure regulators and institutions settle on remains to be seen. But the overlap between the IMF’s description of tokenized markets and the design of these two networks is hard to ignore.

The Number at the Center of It All

The figure is 100 million. That is the average daily trading volume in U.S. equity markets. A DTCC study confirmed that blockchain and distributed ledger technology can handle that volume. SMQKE cited this in an update to an earlier post, pulling the finding back into focus ahead of the July launch.

The document he shared quoted a platform representative, Peve, who stated that distributed ledger technology enables a single source of transaction data. That eliminates the need for the multiple reconciliation phases that other systems rely on.

July Marks a New Stage

SMQKE described the July limited production launch as the first live test of blockchain at this scale. The technology moves from studied to operational. U.S. equity volumes become the proving ground.

SMQKE wrote that this is “the moment blockchain infrastructure gets battle-tested against actual U.S. equity volumes.” The launch represents real conditions, real volume, and documented results. The controlled study becomes a live deployment.

The Scale Argument for XRP

SMQKE tied the 100 million daily trade figure directly to XRP’s role in the infrastructure. The argument centers on what happens after the DTCC completes its internal system upgrades. Once those upgrades are in place, SMQKE projects that daily volume will surpass the 100 million benchmark.

The projection is a possible 10x increase in production capacity. XRP, alongside XLM, sits at the center of that projected throughput on public blockchain rails. The foundation for that scale is settlement speed. Instantaneous value settlement removes the bottlenecks that traditional systems carry. With billions of trades per day, that efficiency becomes a structural requirement.

The Infrastructure Argument

The DTCC’s platform overhaul involves cloud-based storage and distributed ledger technology. The document described the purpose directly: “By managing massive quantities of data in a much more efficient manner, it enables smoother business dealings and removes significant costs from the process.”

That upgrade path leads toward the July launch. SMQKE positions the launch as the beginning of a documented, large-scale test. The results will show whether blockchain holds at real equity market volumes.

For XRP, the argument is straightforward. The technology has been studied, and the infrastructure is being built. The launch date is set. July becomes the first live data point in what SMQKE suggests is a much larger production story, and it could be a historic month for XRP.

After reviewing XLM’s performance across previous market cycles, the analyst said he has revised his price target for the cryptocurrency and now believes the asset could reach levels far beyond its current trading range.

In a recent tweet, Steph announced that he had adjusted his XLM price prediction and shared a detailed breakdown of the technical and market-cap metrics that support his outlook.

The analyst’s assessment combines historical price behavior with market dominance data, leading him to outline both conservative and optimistic scenarios for XLM’s potential performance during the current cycle.

Historical Resistance Remains a Key Level

In the video, Steph examined XLM’s weekly chart dating back to 2014 and highlighted a price zone that has repeatedly acted as major resistance. He noted that XLM faced rejection in the range between approximately $0.65 and $0.90 during previous market cycles.

According to the analyst, the same resistance zone played a role in the market tops of 2018 and 2021 and once again limited upside momentum during 2024. He emphasized that this area has remained significant for nearly a decade, making it one of the most important levels for traders to monitor.

Steph pointed out that XLM recently surged from roughly $0.15 to around $0.30 before pulling back to approximately $0.25. Based on the strength of the current trend, he suggested that a return to the $0.65-$0.90 range could occur if bullish momentum continues in the coming weeks.

While he described that target as a realistic near-term objective, he stressed that it was not his final price prediction for the current cycle.

Market Dominance Forms the Basis of His Forecast

The analyst then shifted attention from technical analysis to market dominance. He explained that XLM currently represents about 0.34% of the total cryptocurrency market capitalization, which he said stands at approximately $2.46 trillion.

Using historical data, Steph noted that XLM previously achieved a market dominance level of 2.73% during the 2018 cycle. He argued that if XLM were to regain that share of the crypto market while total market capitalization remained unchanged at $2.46 trillion, the asset’s market value would rise to roughly $67 billion.

Under that scenario, he estimated that XLM would reach approximately $2 per coin, representing a gain of about 7.8 times from current levels.

XRP Optimistic Scenario Targets $3.41

Steph also presented a more bullish outlook based on the broader cryptocurrency market returning to its previous peak valuation of $4.2 trillion. If that market size is restored and XLM once again captures 2.73% dominance, he calculated that Stellar’s market capitalization would climb to approximately $114 billion.

Based on those assumptions, the analyst projected an XLM price of $3.41, representing a 13.3-fold increase from its current value.

He concluded by arguing that a decisive breakout above the long-standing resistance zone could open the door to substantially higher prices. While acknowledging the recent strong rally, Steph maintained that XLM remains relatively small compared to several leading cryptocurrencies and still has considerable room for growth. This is due to its market position, partnerships, and overall fundamentals.

He believes the asset’s price moved because nine verifiable, institutional-grade developments landed within 30 days. He described May 2026 as “the most loaded month in Stellar history.” However, most investors only heard about one of these institutional-grade developments.

The DTCC Partnership

The headline development came on May 27. X Finance Bull noted that DTCC and the Stellar Development Foundation announced that DTCC’s Tokenization Service will connect with the Stellar public blockchain. DTC-tokenized assets, including Russell 1000 equities, major index ETFs, and U.S. Treasury securities, are expected on Stellar by the first half of 2027.

Circle, Bermuda, and Protocol 26

The analyst highlighted Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, which went live on the Stellar mainnet on May 19. Native USDC can now move between Stellar and other CCTP-supported chains using a burn-and-mint model. No wrapped assets, and no custodial bridges.

X Finance Bull also pointed to two Bermuda developments. On May 12, the Stellar Development Foundation and the Government of Bermuda announced a national strategy to move key payment and financial services on-chain using Stellar.

On May 29, Bermuda announced plans for a Digital Bermuda Dollar on Stellar. Residents will use the network to receive wages, pay merchants, and settle government fees.

He covered Protocol 26 “Yardstick,” which activated on the mainnet on May 6. It delivered quorum freeze capabilities, improved smart contract functionality, and reduced costs for ZK-related operations.

EU Regulation and Additional Integration

X Finance Bull noted that 21X went live on Stellar on May 6 as the first fully regulated DLT trading and settlement system under the EU DLT Pilot Regime. On May 7, Mesh announced its integration with Stellar, the analyst noted, establishing it as a core settlement layer for stablecoin-powered payments at a global scale.

Figure launched YLDS on Stellar on May 5, the first regulated yield-bearing dollar product on the network, designed for regulated entities, fintechs, and neobanks.

Credit Infrastructure and Network Metrics

The analyst covered SDF’s $1 million investment in Ascend, which expands Stellar institutional credit, lending, and credit underwriting with compliance-first infrastructure.

X Finance Bull followed with SDF’s Q1 2026 update: 22.5 billion total operations, $5.5 billion in quarterly payment volume, 99.99% uptime, and tokenized RWAs up 155% to $2 billion.

Conclusively, he said XLM’s May rally didn’t happen because of hype. It was a result of these nine major institutional-grade developments.

]]> Stellar (XLM) continues to trade within a long-term consolidation pattern that has now entered what crypto analyst EGRAG CRYPTO (@egragcrypto) describes as the most favorable stage for a major breakout.

His latest chart focuses on XLM’s market capitalization rather than price alone, highlighting a multi-year ascending triangle that has compressed for several years while maintaining its structure.

According to the analyst, time spent inside the pattern could prove just as important as price action itself. As volatility continues to contract and support remains intact, he believes XLM is moving toward a critical point in the cycle.

XLM Enters the “Sweet Spot” Zone

In his post, EGRAG CRYPTO presented what he calls the “Ascending Triangle Compression Model.” The chart tracks XLM’s market cap from the 2017 cycle through the current market structure, showing a series of projected breakout windows based on how much of the triangle’s lifespan has been consumed.

He noted that the strongest breakouts have historically occurred after a significant portion of a triangle pattern has matured. The chart identifies 65% as the “Early Ignition Zone,” 70% as the “SWEET SPOT,” 80% as a late but still healthy breakout zone, and 90% as a period where reliability begins to decline.

According to the analyst, XLM has already passed the 65% stage and is now transitioning toward the 70% zone. The chart also assigns probabilities to each stage. EGRAG estimates the 70% zone carries the highest breakout probability at roughly 70% to 80%, compared with 45% to 55% around the 65% mark.

Compression Continues as Support Holds

The chart shows XLM market capitalization respects a rising support trendline extending from the previous cycle. At the same time, resistance remains near the upper boundary of the triangle, creating a narrowing range.

EGRAG CRYPTO highlighted several factors supporting the setup. He stated that the triangle remains intact, the Macro support is still being respected, volatility is compressing, and the asset is consuming more time within the triangle. The tightening market structure lets pressure build as sellers gradually lose momentum.

Momentum Is Already Building

The most recent upward move on the chart coincides with a surge in XLM following the announcement that DTCC plans to connect its tokenization infrastructure to the Stellar blockchain as part of its multi-chain strategy. The development marked one of Stellar’s most significant institutional milestones to date and helped fuel a sharp rally in XLM.

Although XLM surged, the ascending triangle structure remains intact. With compression continuing and the asset approaching the analyst’s preferred 70% window, traders will be watching whether the recent momentum can carry XLM toward a decisive move above long-term resistance.

The rally also triggered debate within the XRP community, with some questioning why the XRPL network was not chosen for the particular role highlighted in the DTCC announcement.

Vincent Van Code addressed those concerns directly in a detailed post, arguing that the situation should not be viewed as a setback for XRP or the XRP Ledger.

Vincent Van Code Says XRPL and XLM Serve Different Purposes
