The milestone implies that 19 million Bitcoin are now in circulation, with just 2 million BTC yet to be mined.

The 19 millionth Bitcoin was mined by SBI Crypto at block 730002. In transaction fees and block rewards, SBI Crypto earned ‎6.32 BTC worth relatively $293,000.

As expected, the rare occasion is currently trending on crypto Twitter. Many Bitcoin proponents, such as Anthony Pompliano, are currently speaking about the significance of the milestone and praising Satoshi Nakamoto for a job well done.

Anthony Pompliano tweeted, “The 19,000,000th bitcoin was just mined. Only 2 million more bitcoin to go.”

While speaking with Cointelegraph, the CEO of Kryptovault, Kjetil Hove Pettersen, said:

“We have only two million Bitcoin—less than 10% of the total—left to mine. This may seem like a small number at first glance, but I believe the best days of mining are still ahead of us.”

Founder of Bitcoin Bloem, Bert de Groot, also said, “19th million Bitcoin being mined today marks a historical moment,” adding that the milestone makes the Bitcoin community realize the importance of Satoshi Nakamoto’s work once more.

When Will Bitcoin In Circulation Hit 21 Million?

Many people may think it remains a few years for Bitcoin miners to mint the last BTC into circulation, but the concept of Bitcoin halving, which slashes miners’ rewards by 50% every four years will make the mining of the remaining 2 million BTC slower.

As estimated by Bitcoin developers, the last Bitcoin will be minted approximately 118 years from now, which is the year 2140 by calculation.
