The Shiba Inu ecosystem continues to urge its community to exercise caution in the face of heightened scam activity surrounding the Bitcoin halving.
On April 17th, Shiba Inu’s marketing lead, Lucie, issued a strong warning via X, calling on community members to remain vigilant against “deceitful individuals” who pose as harmless figures with the intent to manipulate investors for personal gain.

She emphasized that the cryptocurrency industry is not immune to bad actors, and it is crucial for investors to be aware of these tactics.
Interestingly, Lucie highlighted a positive aspect of encountering scammers – it strengthens the community’s resolve to build a more “honest, open, and reliable ecosystem” within the crypto space. This statement underscores Shiba Inu’s commitment to fostering a secure and transparent environment for its users.
The official Shiba Inu “Shibarmy Scam Alert” channel has also joined the fight against scams by reminding the community of common tactics employed by fraudsters. These tactics include the creation of fake social media accounts to spread misinformation, directing users to fraudulent platforms, and stealing valuable personal information.
Shibarmy Scam Alert further advises investors to strictly follow official Shiba Inu ecosystem team members and to be wary of any private attempts requesting wallet synchronization or personal details. The team emphasizes that legitimate representatives will never engage in such practices.
Adding another layer of caution, a message from Shiba Inu’s pseudonymous founder, Ryoshi, has resurfaced online. Shared by Buzz, the founder of K9 Finance DAO (a Shiba Inu ecosystem partner), Ryoshi’s message emphasizes his commitment to protecting “the line and the brand” of Shiba Inu.

He clearly defines who the community should consider allies. He said, “anybody who comes and honors Shiba” is considered a friend. Whereas, those with malicious intent are ostracized: “anyone who leeches from Shiba” is labeled a scammer.
Ryoshi’s message serves as a renewed call to action for the SHIB community to remain vigilant against those who threaten its integrity.
