Leading crypto-based financial app xPortal has announced exciting news for Shiba Inu (SHIB) holders. The platform’s user-friendly debit card service now allows users to top up their cards with SHIB, enabling direct spending of their favorite meme coin at millions of merchants worldwide.
The new development is one of the broader updates to xPortal’s debit card top-up options. In addition to SHIB, users can now leverage a wider range of cryptocurrencies for seamless spending, including Chainlink (LINK), Uniswap (UNI), Dogecoin (DOGE), PEPE meme coin, and the stablecoins USDT and USDC.

For those unfamiliar with xPortal, it is a global payments application and non-custodial crypto wallet built on the secure MultiversX (EGLD) blockchain. The platform empowers users to effortlessly manage and exchange their crypto holdings directly through their mobile devices. Security remains a top priority for xPortal, and the team boasts an “unhackable” on-chain 2FA system to safeguard user assets.
Shiba Inu fans can easily access the new SHIB payment functionality by downloading the xPortal app from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei AppGallery. There’s no charge for card issuance, but a €10 fee applies for physical card delivery.
A minimal 1.49% fee is incurred for crypto purchases made through the card. To incentivize card usage, xPortal offers an enticing 5% cashback reward program.
xPortal’s integration of SHIB payments positions them as a key player in the evolving landscape of crypto-based financial services. This move reflects a growing trend of industry leaders embracing Shiba Inu for wider adoption.
In 2023, BitPay partnered with Sardine to enable SHIB payments via their cards in over 180 countries. Similarly, Gate.io exchange launched a debit card supporting SHIB spending across Europe that same year.

More recently, CryptoCom expanded its Visa card program to accept SHIB for funding, while Binance reinstated SHIB support on their crypto debit cards, building upon their initial integration in August 2022.
