Robinhood’s Cautious Listing Approach
Robinhood has a reputation for carefully vetting crypto assets before listing them on its trading platform. The platform has a history of delisting tokens that face regulatory scrutiny, as evidenced by its decision to delist SOL, MATIC, and ADA in June due to the SEC classifying them as unregistered securities.
Robinhood’s reluctance to list XRP is likely due to the ongoing SEC v. Ripple lawsuit. Despite Ripple’s three consecutive victories over the SEC, which has given it more regulatory clarity than other altcoins in the U.S., Robinhood has remained silent on the potential listing.
Legal Challenges Persist
Although the XRP lawsuit has largely gone in Ripple’s favor, it is still ongoing, currently in the remedies phase, where the concerned are discussing an appropriate penalty for Ripple’s violation of securities laws through institutional sales of XRP, amounting to $700 million.
The SEC could also appeal the July 13 ruling, which determined that other sales of XRP were not securities offerings, further complicating the chances of a Robinhood listing.

Intensifying Speculation
While Robinhood remains silent on the potential listing, it’s also not tracking the price performance of XRP on its platform. This mixed messaging has only fueled speculation within the XRP community. Only time will tell whether the rumors of a Robinhood listing will materialize.
Despite the excitement surrounding the potential listing, the price of XRP has not been significantly impacted. At the time of press, XRP is trading at $0.6114, up 3.5% in the last 24 hours.
Rumors have been circulating for months that Robinhood is considering listing XRP. In August, rumors suggested a listing by the end of the year, while some users are now speculating about a Q1 2024 listing. Although these rumors remain unverified, they continue to keep the XRP community on edge.
