Statements reportedly from Arthur Britto, a Ripple co-founder, have intensified discussions of an XRP price surge. Britto made an extremely bullish forecast for XRP, suggesting it could reach $10,000. Many in the community are wondering about the possibility of such a surge.
CryptoGeek (@CryptoGeekNews), a notable crypto news account on X, shared the news of Britto’s expectations for XRP. The image shared shows Britto’s belief that XRP was designed to trade at $10,000.
According to the post, Britto also emphasizes the importance of global scalability so that XRP can serve the world’s population of 7.5 billion people.
However, these claims lack a reliable source to back them up. While they are widely discussed, there is no documented instance of Britto making such a bold prediction.
Britto maintains a low profile and does not actively engage on his X account. Because of this, most people don’t know him as Ripple’s co-founder. Brad Garlinghouse, Chris Larsen, and Jed McCaleb are the well-known founders of the company.
The earliest mention of Britto discussing XRP’s potential to reach $10,000 can be traced back to a 2019 YouTube video, which claims that he made this prediction in 2017.
In the video, YouTuber Mark Collins emphasizes the importance of increased XRP liquidity, suggesting that this would bring higher prices. He also envisions the tokenization of various asset classes using XRP as a catalyst to surpass the $10,000 mark.
There have been other $10,000 predictions for XRP other than the unconfirmed one from Britto. A prominent crypto analyst, Lord XRP (@Bitforcoinz), has described XRP at $10,000 as a logical conclusion. Lord XRP bases his prediction on XRP’s potential to capture a more substantial share of the payments sector when it becomes the major facilitator of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).
This prediction draws a comparison between Ripple and established traditional payment giants like Western Union and SWIFT by examining their market caps. Lord XRP contends that if Ripple can gain a larger portion of the total payments sector, which is currently valued at around $2.7 quadrillion, XRP’s price might indeed surge to $10,000.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has also shared his belief that XRP can rival Bitcoin and cross $10,000. However, not everyone shares this belief. One expert believes some serious measures need to be taken to reach $50, and describes XRP at $10,000 as unlikely. Another does not expect XRP to cross $10.
