Researcher: Why XRP Price Will Be “Incomprehensibly High”

Crypto researcher SMQKE (@SMQKE) has spent years collecting institutional documents that rarely reach public discussion.

In a recent interview with Robert Pickering on the Allin Crypto podcast, he argued that those documents reveal how large financial institutions already value certain blockchain protocols. His focus stayed firmly on XRP and its utility.

SMQKE drew the community’s attention to this interview on X, writing, “Why the value of XRP will be ‘incomprehensibly high.’” He said the answer sits inside documented institutional research. The interview walked through that material step by step, with XRP presented as a core infrastructure asset rather than a speculative asset.

Institutional Research and Protocol Valuation

SMQKE anchored much of the discussion to a July 2025 Franklin Templeton paper authored by Sandy Kaul, the firm’s Head of Innovation. The document explored how blockchain protocols differ from early internet protocols. TCP/IP and HTTP reshaped the global economy but never carried direct financial value. Blockchain networks do.

The paper argued that if investors had been able to own early internet protocols, the wealth creation would have been extreme. SMQKE highlighted a phrase describing modern protocol value as “incomprehensibly high.” He said native tokens enable monetization of infrastructure. XRP is treated as a protocol asset, with institutions analyzing it as a settlement layer.

XRP’s Role as a Global Value Transfer Layer

According to SMQKE, Ripple’s documents position XRP as a scalable layer for value transfer. Moving trillions across global markets needs more than speed. It needs deep liquidity and a high unit price. Low-priced assets create slippage at scale. XRP’s design addresses that limit.

He added that if XRP becomes central to global settlement, demand must rise. SMQKE also cited regulatory clarity, saying institutions favor assets with clear legal status and operational compliance. This positioning aligns with institutional settlement requirements worldwide today.

Regulation, ETFs, and Market Structure

The conversation also addressed shifts in market structure. SMQKE said the traditional 4-year crypto cycle no longer reflects reality. Institutional ETFs, sovereign capital, and tokenized assets operate on continuous timelines.

He attributed recent market weakness to macro disruptions rather than failing fundamentals. He expects XRP to benefit as regulated products expand. SMQKE also suggested that XRP sits behind Bitcoin and Ethereum as a candidate for deeper institutional exposure. He emphasized use cases, not narratives, as the deciding factor.

A Utility-Driven Outlook for 2026

Looking ahead, SMQKE described 2025 as a regulatory checkpoint. He expects 2026 to mark widespread utilization. He warned that speculative tokens without compliance face declining relevance, as institutions focus on ISO 20022 alignment and legal certainty. For XRP, SMQKE’s conclusion remained consistent. Value follows function, and documentation already reflects that belief.
