The XRP market is showing signs of a quiet shift. Crypto commentator Xaif (@Xaif_Crypto) has drawn attention to this change using on-chain exchange balance data. He revealed that XRP is being withdrawn from exchanges at a steady pace, and the remaining liquid supply is shrinking.
According to Xaif, only 1.5 billion tokens now remain on exchanges. This is the lowest the available supply has been in 2025. He also noted that roughly 750 million tokens have been absorbed in recent weeks. He described this trend as a “Liquidity drain,” adding that if it continues, “a supply shock could land by early 2026.”

What the Exchange Data Shows
Exchange balance data tracks the amount of XRP that is readily available for trading. When balances rise, sell-side liquidity increases. When balances fall, the available supply tightens. XRP’s available supply on exchanges has shrunk massively in 2025, and Xaif’s post shows that trend accelerating.
The chart shows a rapid decline from almost 3.5 billion tokens in October to roughly 1.5 billion now. This decline began around the time XRP experienced a flash crash. After the crash, whales took the opportunity to accumulate XRP at low prices, hoping for a resurgence in 2026.
This matters because exchanges are the primary source of immediate liquidity. XRP held off exchanges is typically stored in cold wallets, custody solutions, or long-term holdings. Demand changes can strongly affect the liquid supply.

Long Term Outlook and 2026 Trajectory
If exchange balances continue to decline into 2025, XRP could enter 2026 with a historically low liquid supply. That sets conditions where demand growth matters more than speculation. Institutional products, payment flows, and custody adoption all rely on available liquidity. A tighter supply shifts pricing dynamics and could significantly favor XRP.
The recent absorption of 750 million XRP suggests sustained buying or withdrawal activity. It points to a pattern. Xaif noted that a supply shock could arrive in 2026, and some analysts believe this development could send XRP as high as $1,000.
If XRP demand expands while exchange supply continues to fall, the 2026 price trajectory skews upward. The magnitude depends on adoption, regulation, and macro conditions. The structure, however, is becoming clearer.
