Pundit Says XRP Will Melt Many Faces In 2025 Based On This Ripple CTO’s Prediction

Amelie, a well-known crypto influencer, recently shared a statement from Ripple CTO David Schwartz regarding the future of blockchain adoption.

In a video clip, Schwartz expressed confidence that the industry is on the verge of mass institutional adoption, which he believes will lead to widespread retail adoption.

Institutional Adoption as a Precursor

Schwartz emphasized that institutional adoption is to come before mass retail adoption can occur. He said while many in the blockchain space initially viewed retail adoption as the primary driver of growth, institutions must first integrate blockchain technology.

According to him, financial systems cannot be rebuilt from scratch while ignoring the existing structures that currently hold trillions of dollars in value.

“You can’t build a new financial system from zero, ignoring the existing financial system where everybody’s money is,” Schwartz stated. He argued that blockchain projects must integrate with the traditional financial system to create a seamless transition for users.

The Role of DeFi and Blockchain Technologies

Schwartz also noted that institutional adoption includes decentralized finance (DeFi) and other blockchain technologies. He pointed out that connectivity with existing financial institutions is crucial for blockchain to reach its full potential.

Without institutional involvement, retail users would struggle to use blockchain-based solutions in everyday transactions, such as purchasing groceries or paying bills.

This perspective aligns with the broader trend of increasing interest from financial institutions in blockchain technology. Over the past year, major banks, payment providers, and investment firms have explored blockchain-based solutions, signaling a shift toward mainstream adoption.

The Timeline for Adoption

Schwartz suggested that the next one to two years will be critical for institutional adoption. He expressed optimism that this trend will pave the way for mass retail adoption, as traditional financial entities incorporate blockchain technology into their existing frameworks.

This viewpoint is supported by recent developments in the financial sector. Many institutions have been exploring blockchain-based payment solutions, cross-border transactions, and tokenized assets. If these efforts continue to gain traction, they could create the necessary infrastructure for broader retail adoption.

Amelie’s Optimistic Outlook

Amelie shared Schwartz’s statements on social media and expressed her belief that XRP could see significant gains in 2025. She wrote, “I BELIEVE #XRP WILL MELT MANY FACES IN 2025!”—a phrase commonly used in the crypto community to indicate expectations of a sharp price increase.

Her post sparked discussion among crypto enthusiasts, with many debating whether institutional adoption will indeed drive retail adoption and how this might impact XRP’s value. Some community members agreed with Schwartz’s assessment, while others remained skeptical about the timeline for adoption.
