Pundit Says Buy More XRP While You Still Can Based On Ex-Ripple Executive’s Statement

Cryptocurrencies often oscillate between speculation and structural utility, leaving investors to navigate both market hype and long-term adoption. XRP now sits at the intersection of these forces, with retail traders chasing short-term gains while institutions increasingly explore its potential for high-volume cross-border liquidity. Understanding which side drives sustainable value has become crucial for investors entering 2026.

X Finance Bull recently highlighted remarks from Dilip Rao, former Global Head of Infrastructure Innovation at Ripple, made during a 2025 panel at the Global Islamic Economy Summit. Rao emphasized that XRP is not designed primarily for retail speculation but as a bridging mechanism for sophisticated institutions.

“A lot of it, as you say, is very shallow trading by individuals, and that is not the use case that we are pursuing,” Rao explained. He added that retail activity generates “a lot of noise” that distracts from XRP’s role in solving quadrillion-dollar liquidity problems.

XRP’s Role as an Institutional Bridging Asset

Rao described XRP as a financial instrument built for high-volume, wholesale finance rather than casual trading. He stated, “What we are pursuing is the use of XRP as a financial asset by sophisticated institutions as a bridging mechanism.”

This framing underscores Ripple’s strategy to align XRP with the operational needs of banks, remittance networks, and corporate treasury functions, enabling real-time, low-cost cross-border settlements.

Recent quarters have reflected this institutional focus, with the majority of XRP sales directed toward large-scale buyers rather than retail traders. This strategic allocation allows XRP to support massive liquidity flows efficiently, positioning the network to serve global markets with trillions in annual cross-border transactions.

Retail Noise vs. Institutional Adoption

While retail speculation drives short-term volatility, Rao emphasized that it does not define XRP’s ultimate trajectory. He explained that as XRP transitions toward institutional use, the market will experience a turning point marked by adoption in wholesale finance.

This shift prioritizes structural utility over momentary hype, giving XRP a foundation for sustainable long-term growth.

Strategic Implications for Investors

X Finance Bull interprets Rao’s comments as a clear message for market participants: accumulating XRP now provides an opportunity to participate before broader institutional adoption peaks. Unlike assets fueled primarily by retail activity, XRP’s value lies in its ability to address systemic liquidity needs and integrate into large-scale financial infrastructure.

In essence, XRP is evolving from a retail-traded token into a purpose-built financial tool. Investors who recognize this transition can position themselves strategically, aligning with a market that increasingly values utility, scale, and institutional trust over short-term speculation.
