Over the years, scamming techniques have evolved, becoming inevitable in crypto trading. The virtuality and facelessness in trading cryptocurrencies seem to be a significant propeller and leverage for the numerous fraudulent attempts witnessed in crypto dealings.
In a new development, Lucie, a Shiba Inu marketing specialist, took to Twitter to call the public’s notice, especially the SHIB community’s attention to a new scam scheme, which involves targeting centralized exchanges by individuals claiming to be from the Shiba Inu (SHIB) team.

Lucie emphasized the need for centralized exchanges and crypto outlets to verify the authenticity of any individual approaching them as a member of the Shiba Inu community. “This is extremely important,” she stressed.
In addition, Lucie shared an official Linktree page containing official links to every important site in the SHIB’s ecosystem. These sites include Shiba Inu Ecosystem Portal, ShibaSwap, Shibarium Beta, Metaverse, Shiboshis, and social media accounts.
In her address to exchanges such as Binance, Crypto.com, Robinhood, and Kraken, Lucie noted that some individuals were removed from the Shiba Inu team, stressing the need for these exchange firms to be strict on their dealings with people that approach them as a ShIB community member.

Lucie’s latest scam alert outburst came after the Susbarium notified the public about the presence of a potential scammer alleged to have contacted crypto outlets while posing as a SHIB team member.
Per the Susbarium, the alleged perpetrator of the fraudulent move goes by the incognito, Farhan Aslam, on LinkedIn, with further claims of being an operation leader in Shiba Inu and a worker in the dog-themed crypto project since August 2020, the month SHIB was launched.
Susbarium noted that several crypto exchanges filed reports against potential scammers offering them SHIB coins on other chains, which includes Fantom and Binance Smart Chain (BSC).
Most importantly, Ragnar, a Shibarium Telegram admin, reiterated the existence of Shiba Inu ecosystem tokens only on the Ethereum blockchain, insisting that other versions of SHIB are merely wrapped tokens with wormhole addresses.
The recently exposed scam initiative isn’t the first time such has happened in the SHIB ecosystem. Last month, a fake account reportedly impersonated Shytoshi Kusama, the anonymous Shiba Inu lead, while openly declaring a fake rollout of “Shibarium Testnet V2.”
Also in March, another Kusama account emerged, targeting unsuspecting SHIB holders. Meanwhile, in April, some Shiba Inu investors forfeited their SHIB assets to a fake Shibarium website on Google.
