Crypto developer and analyst Bird (@Bird_XRPL) recently posted a clarification on behalf of Alex Jones following Jones’s recent segment on XRP. The post addresses confusion in the XRP community about what Jones actually argued.
According to Bird, Jones was not attacking XRP. The segment was about government overreach, bail-ins, and what regulators have said publicly about seizing private assets.
Jones himself confirmed this in a follow-up video. “Doesn’t mean XRP is bad or Bitcoin is bad,” Jones said. “It’s great. Clearly.” His original segment entered XRP territory because viewers were already asking whether governments could attempt to seize it. Jones used that question as a door into a much larger discussion about the financial system.
Important clarification from Alex Jones on XRP.
He makes it very clear in this video that he is not against XRP, he isn’t claiming to be an XRP expert, and he isn’t making a prediction about what happens to XRP or its price.
His wider point is about the financial system.

Jones Was Responding to a Viral Question
Jones is explicit that he did not predict XRP’s price or its future. He states he is not an expert on the asset and is not involved in that market.
His concern centers on statements made by the FDIC and by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, who he says indicated that governments intend to manage privately held assets through a unified ledger system during a financial crisis.
Jones’s clarification pulls his original segment back to its intended focus. He describes the core issue as bail-ins. He argues that governments facing systemic collapse would look to consolidate control over bank accounts, real estate, cryptocurrencies, and other holdings. XRP came up because people were asking specifically about it. Jones’s position is that the threat applies to all asset classes, not to XRP alone.

XRP’s Growing Reach
Bird’s post does more than clarify Jones’s position. It also notes something the XRP community may find significant on its own terms. Jones is not a crypto analyst. He operates in political media, reaches a large mainstream audience, and was responding to organic public curiosity about XRP.
In Bird’s view, the fact that those three letters are now appearing in conversations about government power, financial policy, sports sponsorships, and mainstream media means genuine momentum.
Bird notes that XRP is now being discussed far outside the usual crypto audience. Political commentators, financial analysts, and mainstream personalities are all engaging with it, putting the asset in mainstream discussions. He said the conversation is getting bigger.
