If XRP Price Goes to $1,000, Here’s How Richer Ripple Co-Founder Chris Larsen Becomes

Chris Larsen co-founded Ripple. He also holds 2.53 billion XRP. At a price of $1,000 per token, his holdings would be worth $2.53 trillion. That figure would make him the world’s first trillionaire, making it a key topic of discussion within the XRP community.

Crypto enthusiast XRP Olesya laid out the scenario in an X post. At $1,000 per XRP, Larsen’s wealth would eclipse every existing billionaire on the planet. But Olesya took the analysis further, estimating what the price target could mean for the broader holder base.

She projected 300 to 500 new billionaires, 10,000 centimillionaires, 100,000 decamillionaires, and 500,000 millionaires, assuming holders do not sell their XRP before it reaches that price level.

The Sell Pressure Problem

That last condition is where the conversation gets complicated. Commenter Mark Parker challenged the assumption directly. “No one is ever going to hold all of their XRP until it goes to $1,000,” he wrote, adding that sellers would exit “at every level” as price climbed through $50, $150, $275, and $500. His argument is straightforward: sustained holding discipline across millions of participants is unlikely at those valuations.

The Crypto Commentator pushed back on the exercise itself. “Can you finally see how absurd these valuation ‘predictions’ are,” he wrote.

Historical Context and Skepticism

Not everyone approached the discussion with measured skepticism. Commenter JC was unambiguous. “Come now let’s be real. $1000 is never ever happening,” he wrote, noting XRP has not reached $5 in its 17-year existence.

That historical point carries weight. XRP reached its all-time high near $3.84 in January 2018. It has not come close since. The gap between current prices and a $1,000 target represents a move of several orders of magnitude.

What the Numbers Actually Show

The figures in Olesya’s projection come with significant assumptions attached. The Forbes-cited data sourced from XRPL rich lists and public disclosures notes that some figures are approximate and based entirely on a hypothetical $1,000 price. Brad Garlinghouse’s holdings, for example, are listed as unknown. Gregg Kidd’s 1 billion XRP figure is labeled as an option, not a confirmed holding.

The exercise is speculative by design. Its value is in illustrating concentration. A small number of early holders and insiders stand to gain disproportionately if XRP ever reaches that price level. Whether the price ever gets there is a separate question entirely — and one the market has not answered in 17 years.
