Here’s Why Every Token Holder Sees XRP As a Threat

Vincent Van Code, a well-known software engineer and crypto expert, has called out what he sees as unnecessary hostility toward XRP and its ecosystem.

In a post on X, he questioned why “every other token holder sees XRP and XRPL as a threat,” arguing that the technology behind the XRP Ledger (XRPL) should be viewed as a foundation for interoperability rather than competition.

Van Code’s remarks highlight growing tension within the digital asset community as projects vie for relevance in an increasingly fragmented environment. His view stands apart from those who position XRP as a rival to Bitcoin, Ethereum, or other established networks.

Instead, he described XRP as “a liquidity bridger,” emphasizing its role in facilitating seamless movement of value between different assets and blockchains.

Choosing Integration Over a Rivalry

According to Van Code, XRPL’s future involves hosting “100x of tokens from other blockchains,” including assets such as Bitcoin and Ether. This development, he believes, will make it possible for users to hold or transact with a wide range of digital assets directly on XRPL without relying on centralized exchanges.

The vision centers on a system where “you will be able to buy anything with anything,” a concept that would simplify trading and reduce friction across the cryptocurrency market, with XRP acting as the global bridge to power this system.

His comments suggest that XRPL’s utility lies in integration rather than isolation. By supporting tokenized versions of existing cryptocurrencies and other assets, it positions itself as an infrastructure layer that connects markets rather than divides them. This approach aligns with Ripple’s long-stated goal of enhancing liquidity and interoperability across financial systems.

A Call for a Better Approach

Beyond the technical discussion, Van Code addressed the behavior of crypto investors and enthusiasts who tend to aggressively attack XRP. He criticized what he called “senseless and often shortsighted wars to prove which crypto is better,” pointing out that many holders promote their tokens without understanding other projects.

His remarks extended to Chainlink (LINK) supporters, noting that while the technology behind LINK is amazing, it does not compete with other tokens or blockchains and therefore should not be treated as a rival.

Van Code’s broader message urged participants to approach the ecosystem with greater curiosity and less tribalism. “Stop and take stock of your knowledge,” he wrote, encouraging investors to learn how different protocols function. He warned that a lack of understanding could leave some surprised “when things don’t go your way.”
