Finance Expert: I’m Not Buying XRP the “Old Way!” Anymore. I’m Doing This Instead

Crypto commentator Austin Hilton says he changed how he approaches XRP and Bitcoin, but he hasn’t abandoned either asset.

In a video attached to his tweet, Hilton explained that he plans to stop making new direct purchases of XRP and Bitcoin for the foreseeable future. Instead, he wants to put more money into automated trading strategies that can respond to changing market conditions.

Hilton Says He Still Holds His XRP

Hilton made clear that his decision does not involve selling his existing XRP holdings. He said he still owns all his XRP and Bitcoin and plans to hold them for potential long-term gains. However, he said he won’t continue buying XRP directly and holding it through both strong and weak market conditions.

Hilton wants to use an AI-powered trading bot that can execute trades based on market conditions. He said the system can buy or sell assets and take long or short positions without requiring him to make each decision manually.

He also explained that he wants the automated approach to reduce emotional influence and panic on his trading decisions. Hilton said many XRP traders lose money because they react emotionally during market declines or miss opportunities when they are away from their desks.

XRP Features In Hilton’s Crypto Strategy

Hilton said he created four automated strategies with the platform’s executive team. His main crypto strategy includes nine assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, BNB, Pepe, Injective, XRP, and Chainlink.

He also presented back-tested results for the strategy. Hilton said the crypto strategy returned more than 207% during the period he tested, while Bitcoin returned about 30% under a buy-and-hold approach during the same period. He attributed the difference to the strategy’s ability to take long and short positions as market conditions changed.

Hilton presented those figures as back-tested results and did not guarantee that the strategy would produce similar returns in the future. He specifically told viewers that he was not guaranteeing any return from the strategy.

Hilton Plans To Put More Money Into Automated Trading

Hilton said he has already moved $10,000 into the strategies and plans to add more money. He explained that he prefers this approach because he wants his capital to trade automatically rather than simply sitting in a spot XRP or Bitcoin position.

The platform also allows users to apply up to 3X leverage. Hilton said users can reduce leverage to 1X, which doesn’t use leverage. And he warned against using much higher levels. He said he personally avoids 5X, 10X, and 20X leverage because larger market moves can create substantial losses.

For Hilton, the change affects how he deploys new capital rather than his existing XRP holdings. He remains invested in XRP and Bitcoin, but he now plans to use automated trading strategies for new funds instead of continuing to buy and hold XRP directly.
