Ethereum co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, has dumped a huge amount of tokens received as an airdrop on Uniswap. On Thursday, he sold 25 trillion $SHIT tokens for an estimated $33k.
According to a Thursday tweet by Peckshield Alert, the popular crypto founder received an airdrop from a certain issuer called ‘pieceofshit’ in June. The token which is named ‘ShitCoin’ has $SHIT to be its ticker.
Per the report, Vitalik Buterin has dumped all the 25 trillion $SHIT tokens sent to its vitalik.eth account 60 days ago in two transactions of equal volume. The Ethereum co-founder swapped the tokens on Uniswap for $33,000 only.
This massive sell-off triggered a corresponding decline in the price of the token, at the time. The large volume offload could further imply Vitalik Buterin’s lack of interest in crypto projects with no clear roadmap and utility.
Recall that on Tuesday, the prominent figure urged the crypto community to call out scammers in the crypto industry or creators of fraudulent crypto pyramids/ Ponzi schemes.
“Call out scammers. You get hate in the moment, but time vindicates you. Even if you’re some CEO with a “reputation” and need for “professionalism”, do it anyway and be savage. People look up to you and your warning will be taken seriously,” Vitalik Buterin tweeted.
A similar action was displayed by the Ethereum co-founder in 2021 when he was gifted a large volume of Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens by the project’s team.
Back then, Vitalik Buterin burned 90% of the airdropped tokens which amounted to approximately 410.24 SHIB tokens. Also, he gave out 50 trillion SHIB tokens to the Indian Covid Relief Fund.
