Elon Musk, the billionaire investor and vocal supporter of Dogecoin, has received a mysterious invitation to the highly anticipated unveiling of Shibarium, Shiba Inu’s Layer-2 scaling protocol.
The invitation was extended by Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu, fueling speculation that Musk may be attending the Blockchain Futuristic Conference in Toronto, Canada, where the launch will take place.

Shytoshi Kusama responded subtly to a picture of Musk wearing a shirt bearing the words “I Love Canada,” indicating the Shibarium team’s enthusiasm about having the tech mogul at the event. The conference is slated to occur from August 13th to 17th, 2023.
The long-awaited unveiling of Shibarium is around the cee. Shytoshi Kusama had previously mentioned that the Layer-2 scaling protocol would be launched during the Blockchain Futurist Conference, following months of ongoing updates.
Shibarium is specifically designed to enhance the scalability of the Ethereum network, and its initial beta test, known as “Puppynet,” was successfully implemented on the mainnet in March.
With the aim of empowering developers to create decentralized applications (DApps) and facilitating integration into real-life businesses, Puppynet garnered significant attention in the community, processing a remarkable 25 million transactions.
During the beta test phase of Shibarium (Puppynet), notable milestones were reached. The total number of blocks processed exceeded 1.45 million, while the number of wallet addresses increased to 16.98 million.
As per data from PuppyScan, the total number of transactions on Shibarium beta Puppynet reached 33,886,822. The network also recorded a total of 17,063,134 wallets and processed 1,925,518 blocks, with an average block time of 5.0 seconds. It is expected that these figures will continue to grow as the official launch of Shibarium approaches.
