Michael Arrington of Arrington XRP Capital, a cryptocurrency investment firm, highlighted a compelling use case for XRP in a recent video.
In the video shared by JackTheRippler (@RippleXrpie), Arrington emphasized XRP’s unrivaled speed and cost-effectiveness for large transactions, contrasting it with the limitations of Bitcoin (BTC), the largest cryptocurrency by market cap.

Arrington addressed the prevalence of tribalism within the cryptocurrency industry, specifically citing “Bitcoin Maximalists” who hold a negative view of XRP. Maximalists like Max Keiser always share bearish predictions for XRP and other altcoins while failing to acknowledge the advantages they hold over Bitcoin.
Arrington countered this sentiment by acknowledging XRP’s clear value proposition, saying, “They’re really good at one thing: moving money fast and cheap. And, it’s fantastic. It fills a big need.”
The core of Arrington’s argument lies in a practical example of his firm’s utilization of XRP. He describes effortlessly moving a significant sum of money using XRP, saying, “We did our first close and moved $50 million into the company in XRP in like 2 seconds, and it cost 30 cents.”
He emphasizes the stark contrast between traditional financial systems and even Bitcoin, saying, “There’s no way to do that with fiat or Bitcoin. There’s just no way to do it that fast and that cheaply.” XRP has been used for real-time cross-border transactions, and traditional systems have a long way to go to catch up.
The limitations of traditional wire transfers are well-documented, often incurring high fees and delays that can span several days. Bitcoin, while offering a decentralized alternative, suffers from sluggish transaction processing times and significant fees, especially for large transactions.
Arrington’s story shows how XRP’s speed and cost-efficiency can streamline the fund management processes. He also pointed out that when their investment partners require redemption, they can again utilize XRP for swift and cost-effective transfers, avoiding the delays and fees associated with traditional wire transfers.

Arrington’s spotlight on this use case shows practical applications of XRP. He acknowledges that while the cryptocurrency industry can get bogged down in speculation and ideological disputes, XRP demonstrably offers solutions for real-world financial transactions.
The ability to transfer vast sums of money instantaneously and for minimal cost is a significant advantage for institutional investors and corporations. As Arrington aptly states, “I don’t understand why that’s hard to understand.”
Ripple was recently recognized as the best cross-border payment platform in 2024, and Arrington’s transaction is just a glimpse into XRP’s potential.
