Expert Predicts What Will Happen With XRP In 2026

As crypto markets digest prolonged volatility and uneven performance across digital assets, attention is increasingly turning to what the next full cycle could look like. Historically, periods of uncertainty have often laid the groundwork for explosive upside, particularly when regulatory clarity, institutional capital, and macro liquidity begin to converge.

For many market watchers, 2026 is shaping up to be a defining year—and XRP is once again part of that conversation.

Crypto commentator Austin Hilton recently shared his outlook in a video posted on X, where he explored how a bold Bitcoin forecast could translate into significant upside for XRP.

Hilton referenced a well-known anonymous market participant who previously called Bitcoin’s cycle high with striking accuracy and is now projecting a substantially higher peak in the next cycle.

Bitcoin’s Dominance as the Market Engine

Hilton grounded his analysis in Bitcoin’s role as the primary driver of the crypto market. “Bitcoin is 60% of the entire crypto market capitalization,” he said, emphasizing that it remains the brand and liquidity anchor for the industry.

According to Hilton, any sustained breakout in Bitcoin would inevitably pull capital into Ethereum, XRP, and other major altcoins through momentum and investor psychology.

While reaffirming that he holds both Bitcoin and XRP, Hilton stressed diversification, noting that Bitcoin’s trajectory continues to shape expectations for the entire asset class.

What a $250,000 Bitcoin Could Mean for XRP

Using the anonymous forecast as a working assumption, Hilton explored a scenario in which Bitcoin reaches $250,000 in 2026. “If Bitcoin goes to $250,000, what would happen with XRP?” he asked, before answering plainly: “Number one, it would go up dramatically.”

Hilton suggested that, under such conditions, XRP reaching $20 is “not out of the realm of possibility,” adding that the $20 to $30 range could be achievable during a full-scale bull market.

He framed this as a function of market structure rather than hype, pointing to how capital historically rotates from Bitcoin into large-cap altcoins during periods of strong bullish momentum.

Brand Awareness and Relative Performance

Hilton also pointed to XRP’s growing visibility beyond crypto-native circles. “I have people all the time who are not into crypto… who come to me and say, ‘I heard about this XRP thing,’” he said, arguing that brand awareness is quietly expanding.

He further noted that XRP has held up relatively well compared to many altcoins, declining far less during recent market drawdowns—a sign, in his view, of underlying resilience.

Regulation, Institutions, and the 2026 Setup

A central pillar of Hilton’s thesis is the evolving regulatory and institutional backdrop. He highlighted upcoming U.S. legislation and increasing openness from major financial institutions to offer crypto products.

“That’s trillions and trillions of dollars locked up behind Fidelity and Schwab,” Hilton said, suggesting that institutional participation has already helped establish a market floor.

Looking ahead, Hilton summed up his outlook simply: 2026 holds a lot more possibilities.” While he acknowledged uncertainty will remain, he believes the alignment of regulation, capital, and infrastructure could make it a pivotal year—particularly for XRP.
