Shytoshi Kusama, lead developer of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, has reacted to the announcement of a groundbreaking partnership with Chainlink aimed at enhancing the utility and adoption of Shiba Inu’s core assets—SHIB, BONE, and LEASH.
This collaboration integrates advanced blockchain interoperability and data streaming capabilities into Shibarium, Shiba Inu’s Layer-2 (L2) solution built on Ethereum.
Kusama emphasized the significance of this milestone, as the adoption of Chainlink’s standards will enable the Shiba Inu ecosystem to achieve unparalleled security, reliability, and inbuilt burn mechanisms while opening doors for multi-chain applications and broader adoption.
This is HUGE news for the #SHIBARMY and $SHIB, $BONE, AND $LEASH. Expect much more from this partnershib! https://t.co/99nRkzdA01

Shiba Inu and Chainlink’s Key Integration Details
As part of this partnership, Shiba Inu assets have adopted Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard, enabling deployment across 12 blockchains.
The CCT standard employs a lock-and-mint mechanism for transferring tokens from Ethereum to other chains and a burn-and-mint process for cross-chain transfers among these networks. This framework ensures token security, seamless interoperability, and scalability.
Shibarium has also integrated Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as its canonical cross-chain infrastructure. This adoption allows developers within the Shiba Inu ecosystem to build reliable and rich cross-chain applications.
According to the official blog post announcing the partnership, Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, stated that the integration of CCIP will “enhance capabilities and drive wide adoption” of the Shiba Inu ecosystem. The Shiba Inu developers have big dreams for the ecosystem, and this is a crucial step forward.
Advanced-Data Solutions
In addition to interoperability, Shiba Inu has adopted Chainlink’s Data Streams for low-latency market data. This solution provides high-frequency data for decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, featuring liquidity-weighted bid-ask spreads and sub-second execution speeds. It enhances the transparency and decentralization of market data while ensuring superior performance.

Kaal Dhairya, a leading Shiba Inu developer, emphasized the transformative impact of this collaboration, saying that integrating Chainlink’s solutions sets “a bold new course” for the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Dhairya also highlighted the unmatched security and reliability provided by these standards and supported by Chainlink’s proven decentralized oracle networks.
Benefits of Chainlink Integration
The adoption of Chainlink’s CCIP enhances the Shiba Inu ecosystem by enabling secure cross-chain token transfers and arbitrary data sharing between blockchains. This thereby unlocks innovative use cases like cross-chain NFTs and programmable token transfers.
CCIP also ensures high security, reliability, and programmability through features like Smart Execution and rate limits. Integrating SHIB, BONE, and LEASH across multiple chains fosters the growth of multi-chain DeFi solutions and scalable decentralized applications.
This partnership positions Shiba Inu and Chainlink as leaders in blockchain innovation. It also reinforces SHIB’s status as a competitor to major cryptocurrencies like XRP and ADA.
