Zach Rector just returned from New York City, and he shared a video telling the community that he is more bullish on XRP than he has ever been.
His takeaway from the 10th annual Ripple Swell Conference is that institutional adoption is not a theory anymore. It is happening on the XRP Ledger right now.
Swell Opens its Doors
For the first time in the conference’s history, Ripple opened Swell to the full XRP community. Rector noted the significance of this shift.
Previous editions were reserved for Ripple’s institutional partners. This year, XRP holders, ecosystem builders, banks, and institutions all shared the same room. That change alone signals how far the ecosystem has come.

Bankers At a Crypto Conference
What struck Rector most was the composition of the crowd. “It felt like I was surrounded by bankers, more so than a crypto conference,” he said, describing both Swell 2025 and this year’s event. Getting into the room with these institutions gave Rector a direct look at the assets they plan to bring to the ledger and the volume of liquidity they intend to deploy.
He acknowledged that institutional adoption has arrived behind schedule. But the institutions themselves are no longer absent.
Brad Garlinghouse on XRP
Rector met Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse at Swell, and the message he heard was unambiguous. Garlinghouse confirmed that Ripple has no plans to abandon XRP. “XRP is the heartbeat of Ripple,” Rector relayed. Ripple intends to hold its XRP position and put the asset to use.
Garlinghouse made clear that the company understands the value of XRP and sees the quality of the ledger being built around it.
RLUSD and Liquidity Growth
Rector connected RLUSD directly to XRP’s trajectory. The growth of RLUSD, and the broader volume of assets and liquidity arriving on the XRP Ledger, creates real demand for XRP itself. His position is that increased on-chain activity correlates directly to demand for the native asset.
He pointed to the period following the November 2024 election as a reference. XRP rose over 600% during that cycle. Rector stopped short of forecasting a repeat. “I’m not that guy that’s gonna guarantee anything,” he said. His confidence comes from what he observed on the ground at Swell.
Where Rector Stands
Rector left New York with zero doubt about XRP’s direction. He said he plans to buy any dip that brings XRP back toward $1. He framed this as a personal decision, not financial advice, but his conviction after Swell is clear. He believes the next cycle will be historic. The banks are not just watching XRP anymore. They are building on the ledger.
