Crypto commentator Austin Hilton considers PEPE a stronger buying opportunity than Shiba Inu based on recent price performance and technical indicators.
In a video shared on X, Hilton compared the two memecoins using market data and signals from Market Vitals, a trading analysis platform. His assessment favored PEPE for investors looking for an entry point, while Shiba Inu received a wait signal.
PEPE Outperforms Shiba Inu (SHIB) in Recent Trading
Hilton began by clarifying that his comparison did not concern the quality of either project or community. Instead, he focused on which token offered the stronger buying opportunity under current market conditions.
At the time of his recording, PEPE had gained 11.4% over 24 hours, while Shiba Inu had risen by just 1.65%. The difference was also evident over the previous month. PEPE had climbed 14%, whereas SHIB had declined by approximately 7%.
Hilton observed that PEPE was attracting more market interest but noted that no single major development explained its gains. His review using ChatGPT identified three possible factors: a technical breakout, increased futures trading, and large wallet transfers. Hilton agreed with the first two but was less convinced that wallet transfers played a significant role.

Market Vitals Gives PEPE a Strong Buy Rating
To compare the tokens further, Hilton introduced Market Vitals, a platform he said uses data and technical indicators to assess cryptocurrency market conditions.
According to the results he presented, PEPE had a score of 85 and had maintained a buy rating for five consecutive days. The platform evaluated factors including trading signals, trend strength, moving averages and relative performance against 115 cryptocurrencies.
Hilton said PEPE’s 20-day and 50-day moving averages supported its positive trend. He also noted that the token ranked among the top 10% of assets tracked for monthly strength and performed well in the platform’s weekly strength assessment.
He pointed to a historical period when PEPE’s signal changed from red to green, followed by a reported gain of approximately 62% over 62 days. Hilton presented this as an example of how the platform’s indicators could help traders identify potential buying opportunities, although past performance does not guarantee similar results in the future.
Shiba Inu (SHIB) Receives a Wait Signal
Shiba Inu produced a weaker reading in Hilton’s comparison. Market Vitals assigned SHIB a score of 36 and classified it as a wait rather than a buy.
In the side-by-side comparison, PEPE held a strong buy rating, while SHIB remained neutral.
His conclusion favored PEPE under the market conditions shown in his video, but the assessment relied heavily on technical signals rather than a confirmed fundamental catalyst. Both memecoins remain speculative assets, and their prices can change rapidly.
