Ripple’s new treasury platform has brought fresh interest to the relationship between its financial services and XRP. Crypto researcher SMQKE believes Ripple Treasury could help XRP enter the SWIFT network, a development that would matter to investors watching for greater institutional use of the digital asset.
SMQKE made the connection in a post on X, writing, “Ripple Treasury + XRP and SWIFT.” He followed it with a stronger claim: “Ripple Treasury will facilitate the entry of XRP into the SWIFT network. Documented.”
Ripple Treasury Brings New Services to Businesses
Ripple launched Ripple Treasury on January 28, 2026, after acquiring corporate treasury software provider GTreasury for $1 billion in October 2025. The platform combines GTreasury’s treasury management software with Ripple’s blockchain technology, giving businesses a single place to manage traditional currencies and digital assets.
The service supports cross-border settlements using RLUSD, Ripple’s dollar-pegged stablecoin. It also connects corporate clients to overnight repurchase agreements and tokenized money-market funds, allowing them to manage cash and access short-term funding.
These services extend Ripple’s reach into corporate finance. Businesses can use the platform to manage their treasury operations without replacing their existing banking arrangements or necessarily handling XRP themselves.

Does This Mean XRP Will Join SWIFT?
SWIFT provides messaging services that banks use to coordinate international payments. Its extensive role in global banking makes any potential connection with blockchain-based payment systems relevant to XRP investors.
However, SMQKE’s statement needs to be distinguished from a confirmed integration. Ripple Treasury’s launch establishes the platform’s capabilities, but it does not prove that SWIFT has adopted XRP or confirmed plans to use it for settlement.
The distinction matters because Ripple can expand its institutional services without every transaction involving XRP. Businesses may use RLUSD or other supported financial services, depending on their needs. XRP’s role would depend on whether institutions use the asset for payments, liquidity, or settlement within any future arrangement.
Investors Want Utility to Translate Into Price
The relationship between adoption and market value also featured in the post’s comments. Fabrizio Scudu questioned whether expanding XRP utility would satisfy investors if the asset’s price failed to reflect that growth.
“But the price is wrong… it’s pointless to say we need to look at utility. We all look at utility, but if it doesn’t translate into a fair value for #XRP, nobody cares anymore,” Scudu wrote.
His comment captures a concern among XRP holders: greater use of Ripple’s technology does not automatically guarantee price appreciation.
For SMQKE’s claim to translate into a meaningful development for XRP, a confirmed SWIFT connection would need to involve actual use of the asset. Until such an arrangement receives official confirmation, the proposed link remains a claim rather than an established integration.
