In a recent X post, crypto commentator Nate (@natebridges51) highlighted a striking disconnect in the market. XRPN, the stock tied to Evernorth’s XRP treasury, surged 68.25% on the day he posted and is up 272.6% from last week.
Meanwhile, XRP itself dropped 2.67% to $1.46, with $4 billion in 24-hour volume. His reaction was simple: “make it make sense.”

What Just Happened?
Evernorth Holdings is a digital asset treasury company built specifically around XRP. It went public through a merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. II, a SPAC. On September 30, Armada shareholders voted to approve the business combination. The announcement came on October 1. Trading under the ticker XRPN on Nasdaq is expected to begin October 8.
Evernorth holds approximately 473 million XRP, making it the largest publicly traded XRP treasury company. Its backers include Ripple, Arrington Capital, SBI Group, Pantera Capital, Kraken, and GSR. The transaction raised over $1 billion in total.
Unlike passive crypto funds, Evernorth plans to actively manage its holdings through lending, liquidity provision, and on-chain ecosystem participation. The goal is to grow XRP per share over time.
Why This Should Be Good for XRP
A publicly listed XRP treasury company gives institutional investors regulated access to XRP without holding the token directly. Evernorth’s ongoing XRP purchases theoretically support the asset’s price by driving more institutional demand.
The listing also raises XRP’s visibility on traditional financial markets alongside everything else in a standard brokerage account. However, the positive news has failed to move XRP’s price, and many are reacting to this frustrating pattern.
The Community Weighs In
The responses reveal a community caught off guard. One commenter pointed out that XRPN isn’t even live yet, with trading not starting until October 8. The stock surged before Evernorth even began trading as the combined entity.

Another suggested XRP holders may be serving as exit liquidity for early investors. The concern is that insiders involved with Evernorth may be positioned to benefit at retail’s expense.
One commenter called XRP the biggest scam. XRP has faced scam accusations for years, and its inability to capitalize on momentum has caused frustration.
The Core Tension
The vote passed, and the listing is coming. Yet XRP dropped. The stock of a company holding 473 million XRP surged while the underlying asset fell. Whether that gap closes once XRPN begins trading on October 8 remains to be seen.
