The XRP Ledger has a new version. XRP Ledger Operations confirmed the release of version 3.3.0, bringing six new amendments up for validator voting alongside notable performance improvements. The update touches several core areas of the network, from privacy and transaction execution to fee management and asset issuance.
Confidential Transfers and Encrypted Balances
One of the most significant amendments in this release is Confidential Transfer. It introduces encrypted Multi-Purpose Token (MPT) balances and transfers on the ledger.
This gives users the ability to transact with greater privacy, a capability that institutional participants and privacy-conscious users have long sought on public blockchain networks.

Atomic Execution Through Batch Transactions
The Batch amendment allows users to wrap up to 8 transactions into a single atomic operation. Atomic execution means every transaction in the batch either succeeds or fails together. No partial outcomes occur.
The amendment also supports four different execution modes, giving developers flexibility in how they structure complex operations. This is a meaningful step for applications that require sequential or conditional transaction logic.
Sponsored Fees and Reserves
The Sponsor amendment introduces sponsored fees and reserves. Third parties can cover transaction costs on behalf of other accounts. This lowers the barrier to entry for new users who may not hold enough XRP to meet reserve requirements or pay fees independently. It opens the door to smoother onboarding experiences built on top of the ledger.
Permission Delegation for Account Security
Through Permission Delegation, account holders can let other accounts send only specific transaction types. Granular control over account permissions reduces risk in multi-party setups. Developers building custodial tools, automated systems, or delegation frameworks gain a native mechanism to restrict what delegated accounts can actually do.
Mutable MPT Properties With Dynamic MPT
Dynamic MPT gives issuers the ability to change MPT properties after issuance. Previously, certain token parameters were fixed at creation. This amendment introduces flexibility for issuers who need to update their token configurations as business requirements evolve.

A Broad Upgrade for the Ledger
The Fix Cleanup amendment bundles multiple technical fixes into a single votable package. This approach consolidates smaller protocol-level corrections, keeping the amendment process efficient.
Beyond the amendments, xrpld version 3.3.0 delivers at least 10-15% lower memory usage, with greater reductions possible depending on node configuration.
Node synchronization has also improved. Operators running validator or full-history nodes stand to benefit from both changes, as reduced memory load and faster sync contribute directly to network stability and accessibility.
