Innovations in 3D graphics: Sergey Tokarev announces the new ZibraGDS technology
With financial support from investment group Roosh, Ukrainian technology company Zibra AI has introduced ZibraGDS, a technology designed to transform the creation of complex real-time 3D graphics. It allows users to work with animated geometry without waiting for lengthy offline rendering. ZibraGDS was officially presented as part of the ACM SIGGRAPH 2026 programme, Sergey Tokarev, an investor and general partner at Roosh, announced.
What Capabilities the New Technology Demonstrates
The main area of application for ZibraGDS, according to the developers, is animated 3D scenes with high detail, such as water simulation, object destruction, the creation of complex visual effects and other similar elements. Previously, processing such scenes took a lot of time due to resource-intensive offline processes. This led to repeated rendering and slower work even after minor changes.
ZibraGDS is designed to address these challenges. It allows users to:
- render scenes up to 10 times faster;
- reduce the volume of animated data by up to 92%;
- process complex geometry directly on the GPU;
- handle scenes containing millions of polygons.
Sergey Tokarev emphasises that investment in technologies of this kind drives the development of emerging fields, from artificial intelligence to digital content creation tools.
How ZibraGDS Works
According to Zibra AI, their technology can work with a high volume of geometric data. Three-dimensional objects are cut into meshlets during compression. After that, the graphics processor uses amplification and mesh shaders to decompress it. Consequently, there is almost no performance drop even when large volumes of information and complicated scenes are rendered in parallel.
ZibraGDS builds on the ZibraVDB platform, introduced in 2024, which supports real-time volumetric effects such as fire, smoke and liquids.
“The future of digital production will be shaped by technologies that make it faster and easier to create and scale complex graphics. That is why we need to build new infrastructure that can become the foundation of the entire industry. Zibra AI’s product is another step towards making digital content creation faster, more accessible and more scalable,” says Sergey Tokarev.
Where ZibraGDS Can Be Used
The new technology should make the work of specialists involved in creating and processing large-scale 3D scenes easier. ZibraGDS can be used in the development of films, video games, interactive products and virtual spaces. Teams will see the result in real time, which will help shorten production cycles, test solutions faster and use resources more effectively.
The creators of Zibra AI, Alex Petrenko, shared that ZibraGDS will solve problems related to offline rendering and hours of waiting as large-scale 3D scenes will be run directly inside the engine. Thus, this will influence the way studios will work and the speed of work relating to that as well.
