Wietse Wind, the founder and developer of Xaman wallet, has issued a major warning to the XRP community. A verified X account posted content promoting “XMN,” a supposed token tied to the Xaman wallet.
The post used official Xaman branding and claimed that token claims would go live on the XRPL Network, with an allocation checker already live. Wind labeled it a scam immediately and clarified that “there is no Xaman token. There will not be a Xaman token.”
Hijacked Accounts and Borrowed Credibility
What makes this case particularly notable is the source of the fraudulent post. The account used belongs to Arlington ISD, a verified X account, suggesting scammers gained unauthorized access to it.
The verification badge lent the post another layer of credibility. Scammers regularly exploit trusted accounts to push fake token launches and airdrops at audiences who have no reason to be suspicious.
Wind has repeatedly raised this kind of alarm. He previously called out impersonators on X, and the Xaman team actively reports these accounts and sites. However, new ones continue to emerge.

A Pattern Across the XRP Community
This is not the first time a fake Xaman token has appeared. The XMN post is one instance in a pattern that has grown more aggressive throughout 2026. In South Korea, authorities apprehended a group that stole 3.4 million XRP, worth approximately 12.3 billion won ($8.55 million), from 71 victims. The scheme exploited trust in the ecosystem to defraud individuals at scale.
Earlier in the year, Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz issued a separate warning about a coordinated scam effort targeting XRPL users. That campaign used fake airdrops, giveaways, and impersonation to steal assets from market participants.
The tactics vary, but the goal stays the same. Scammers manufacture urgency, borrow legitimate branding, and push users to act before they think.

How to Stay Safe
Wind’s advice is the same as it has always been. Do not sign any transaction you do not trust. Do not interact with accounts promising free tokens or airdrops. Xaman has no desktop wallet, no browser extension, and no token. Any post claiming otherwise is a scam.
Verify all information through official channels before taking any action. When in doubt, go directly to official websites and pages. Report suspicious accounts and domains to the platform. Vigilance remains the strongest defense available to any XRP holder right now.
