Proper time and quantity of caffeine consumption!

Most of us start our day with a cup of coffee or tea in order to stay energetic. Caffeine is a major and main part of our busy schedules just as getting dressed and having breakfast. However, this may vary from person to person, some prefer having it in noon and some after dinner. It may be the main reason that you often lie in bed awake, later thinking of where you went wrong instead of getting needed sleep. This seems to be very simple question but unfortunately there can’t be a single answer to this. And that’s because different people react very differently to caffeine.

However, if a person is experiencing a sudden feeling of nervousness or find the heart rate changing, it could well be that the intake of caffeine is too much. It can interfere with a good night’s sleep. Lifestyle also make a huge difference regarding this issue. On the other hand, the genetics also plays an important role, as few people have variants in their genetic codes. Thus, this affects the enzymes in the liver that metabolize and get rid of the caffeine. Further, this can make the metabolism slower or may be faster.

As per the recommendations of U.S. Food & Drug Administration, it is perfectly alright to keep caffeine at 400 milligrams per day or less. If we consider at a normal, then 8-ounce cup of coffee, that has about 100 milligrams of caffeine, would be sufficient. Yet, an another recommendation was made which suggests that is necessary to maintain the amount till 200 milligrams per sitting and not more than that. Although, if a person consumes  four cups a day, they do not require to drink four cups in one go. Thus, this will be too much for the body to metabolize, for most people at least. This is to say, caffeine does truly pick you up a little bit and make you even more alert. So, particularly for people with routine tasks, it can be beneficial.
